Some time ago I felt stuck creatively. Before work in the mornings I drew quick puns on post-it notes so I felt like I was achieving something creative every day. I enjoyed the challenge of always coming up with something new on the spot with a tight time limit. I made one a day for about 3 years. I have hundreds!
Eventually I used these as a jumping off point to create more finished drawings in Illustrator.
I then had many printed into postcards and greeting cards which I sold at craft fairs when I had a chance. Though I don't make new puns everyday anymore, it was a great way to push myself creatively and learn to quickly come up with and execute ideas. The discipline it took, however silly they are, is something I've been able to implement in my professional work.
